All Ages & Abilities Welcome. John Groves earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Central Washington University focus in the areas of trombone performance and music education. He served the Seattle area with a full time brass private lessons studio and freelance performing in jazz bands, symphony orchestras, cover/tribute, funk, blues & rock bands, school presentations, brass coaching/clinics for 25 years.  Mr. Groves now resides in Pocatello and serves Pocatello, Chubbuck & surrounding Eastern Idaho.

While Weekly lessons are best for student consistency I know scheduling or budget may dictate availability to take lessons. I've worked with many students/parents budget and scheduling needs over the years so everyone that wants to take lessons can. Just let me know and we'll sort it out.
Prospective Didgeridoo Students you maybe wondering where do I get a didgeridoo? There are rare instances these days I may have didges for sale but not like I did years ago but no worries mates as in person students in Pocatello will get a practice didgeridoo at no cost to keep.

TUITION RATES for One on One or 2 Student buddy lessons.
30 Minute Lesson: $35
45 Minute Lesson: $50
1 Hour Lesson: $65

IF YOU ATTEND LESSONS AT THE POCATELLO STUDIO IN PERSON & PAY WITH CASH ONLY 30 MINUTE LESSONS: $30

​GROUP LESSONS are available too and offer a different dynamic to the learning experience.
Depending on age and skill set we can work not only technique in a shared environment but also small ensemble playing like duos, trios, quartets. If the budget is tight this is a great way to team up with a fellow brass friend and study with an established brass specialist. Inquire to let John know your needs and rates.

​Lesson tuition will be paid in monthly increments depending on the number of weeks scheduled in the month. Tuition payments will be made one month in advance. Tuition is due on the last lesson of the month for the following month. For Example: July payment due Last Lesson in June. Late payments will jeopardize reserved time slot. If a lesson is to be canceled please notify 24 hours in advance to avoid losing payment credit for the lesson. No exceptions for same day cancellations. Continuously missed lessons will jeopardize reserved time slot. If a lesson is canceled by Mr. Groves a credit will be made towards the following month tuition. Adjustments to monthly balance due will be made if pre-planned events are communicated in advance to John. At home lessons are available. Additional cost per lesson will apply depending on destination. Limitations may apply due to distance and scheduling.
